Top five from last week!
Next week!
- Three days off! I wasn't ready for that! I'm looking forward to a normal week.
- We have learned a lot about features on the surface of Earth, such as plains, mountains, hills, plateaus, and bodies of water.
- We continued the study of Cynthia Rylant, our featured author. Marshall District Library now offers a service where I can request books online and they deliver them to me at school. Amazing!
- We learned about place value while playing a friendly game of Place Value Poker Friday afternoon.
- We practiced Read to Self as well as Read to Someone. They are fantastic readers.
Next week!
- Picture day on Tuesday!
- We will begin our study of our local economy. Our first lessons will focus on how the businesses in our area provide goods and services we need, as well as "opportunity costs." These are concepts we will discuss throughout the year.
- We will begin work on our first personal narrative, with focus on including a beginning, middle, and end.
- We will take our first spelling test over last week's words. No worries, if they don't do well I'll allow them to retake it.
- Introducing, the iPads! We will learn how to take a photograph with our iPad and turn it into our iPad background. We will also begin taking our first Accelerated Reader tests on the iPad.
