Spelling Lists
Click on the spelling list for the week and you'll see that week's spelling words in the description! Never worry about lost spelling lists again.
I tossed spelling workbooks aside and created our own spelling lists. I did this in an effort to satisfy what we see as the diverse needs of our second graders. First, our old spelling curriculum moved too quickly and used spelling words that followed a particular spelling rule, but were just not all that interesting. So, for our students who need a bit more time to work with spelling concepts, we've slowed things down a bit, focusing on one or two spelling rules a week. For our students who require more of a challenge, you will notice that many of our words, while easy to spell, may not be familiar to our students, such as "stash", "dash", and "shift". Not so hard to spell, but more challenging to use. And don't worry, I still have plenty of games, activities and assignments in my arsenal to teach spelling, without the workbook. Let me know what you think!
